Fences are an app that allows you toorganize your desktop icons into categories to un-clutter your workspace. Thelatest version, Fences 2.01, adds new features to help you get and stayorganized even faster. The interface of the newer version is much like before.The fences look the same they're clean and blend well, and you can adjust thetransparency and color to suit your needs. You'll also still be able to easilysort your files and program icons into multiple fences on your desktop. One ofour favorite features, Auto-Organizer, also lets you choose which files willautomatically go into the fence you specify this is handy if you frequently addnew files to your computer.

With this new release Fences userswill now benefit from the ability to quickly create a portal view into all thefiles in a folder using an intuitively managed desktop fenced area. Thisenhancement extends the same organizational capabilities users have enjoyedwith icons and shortcuts to folders, multiple pages of Fences eccessed via mouse swipe.
The new Fences 2.01 features will now keepfrequently used folders visible and organized on the desktop by populating afence with files from any folder. Customization options direct Fences toautomatically place new icons in designated fenced areas. Additionally, a double click can hide or unhide all fence revealing an unobstructedview of the desktop.

The new features seem small, but theycan be really handy. By holding Alt and dragging a folder to your desktop, youcan create a new fence with the contents of that folder laid out perfect forfolders you need to access often, don't want on desktop. You can create multiple pages of fences, swiping b/w them by clicking the edge ofthe screen swiping away.

Once installed, you can create Fenceson your desktop to hold your desktop files. You can create a new fence byholding down the right mouse button and drawing a rectangle on your desktop.Fences will pop up a “Create new fence here” context menu. Use that menu tocreate a new fence.
Rename/Delete Fences:
Right-click on any of the existingfences and you’ll see a context menu popup. Click on the “Rename Fence…” optionto rename fences. Use the “Delete Fence” option to remove fences.
Organize your Desktop with Fences:
Fences would come-in real handy ifyou have taken a bit of prep-work. Start with trying to organize your desktopfiles into folders and then use Fences to contextually organize thosefolders/remaining files and reduce the desktop clutter.
